Our client was looking for a dining table that would match the white oak parquet floor of their new house – and that would be big enough to fit the whole extended family around the same table. They already had a design in mind, but finding such table in the right size and color was a mission impossible – so we stepped in. <\/p>\n

The customer provided a reference image, and based on that we made our own drawings where we adjusted the dimensions, frame structures and joints to please the eye. The material for the 3,2 meter long table was carefully selected because we were looking for a clean, knot-free look. The tabletop was made from 120 millimeter planks, which added to the minimalistic, clean look of the table.<\/p>\n

In the case of such a heavy table, we took extra effort to make the pegged joints super strong so that they keep the table in shape for the next hundreds of years. <\/p>\n

The challenge was to find exactly the right tone for the finishing, so that the table would match the tone of the floor but still stand out. After several tests, we found the perfect combination of oil waxes that highlights the grain while protecting the surface. The oil wax coating is also easy to re-apply to freshen up the look in long-term use. <\/p>\n
