Mahogany Vitrine<\/h2>\n

The twist in this light-structured mahogany vitrine is the drawer that sinks in the frame seamlessly. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Our customer was looking for a vitrine for their beautiful collection of glass art – something big enough, yet light-structured. The desired look was 50\u2019s style, rounded corners, warm mahogany tones and polished wax on the surface. <\/p>\n

So we set out to design a vitrine consisting of two parts, as we wanted to keep the frame\/drawer part and the glass vitrine separate. To make the 1,8 meter tall furniture piece stable enough, we made the bottom part wider. We sought after a slim, graceful look on the leg structure, glass frames and the overall design. The drawer face was designed to sink in the bevelled frame seamlessly to maintain the clean look. <\/p>\n

To counterbalance the lightweight structure, the mahogany adds the show element with its intense color and intriguing grain figures. We waxed the mahogany parts with shiny oil wax and added brass handles, and a local glass dealer Kimmelux delivered the glass parts. <\/p>\n

This project required a delicate touch to make the wood match the glass – and we were happy to hear that the customer really liked the result. They said the vitrine fits in their 50\u2019s style interior well, and the height-adjustable glass shelves work well with even bigger pieces of glass art. <\/p>\n
